Doulos Mural Day

Mhmm... another late post. I'm ashamed but this is so far the only free time that I have. So here goes....
On the 11 of December 2008, Farrah, Sabrina, Bethany, Daniella and I joined the mural painting competition at Pending, Kuching, Sarawak. The murals we painted were supposedly meant to be a welcoming thing for Doulos but we weren't allowed to be there before the ship arrived. Something about letting teenagers with tins of paint on the loose. Therefore the competition was held on the opening day.

Lining up for registration

GBA stands for "Good Books for All"

I know this is weird, but I never knew Doulos was a Christian ship. Since I was a kid I always thought that Doulos was this big ship with loads of cool books on board. Little did I know..... I was amazed to learn that Doulos actually means "Servant" in Greek. It is also known as the floating UN. They're even young children on board and they go to school on the ship, I mean... how cool is that? They get to travel all round the world. Doulos's purpose, "BRINGING KNOWLEDGE, HELP AND HOPE TO THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD". Their core values are, loving God, Esteeming people, working as a team, serving with excellence. You see, living onboard isn't just all fun and games and travelling, you have to work too. I actually am very touched by what those on board are doing. They devoted themselves and volunteered to help people in need all around the world. I wish I had the guts to leave everything behind and live for the greater good by helping others, but sadly I don't. It shames me to say this, but I love material stuff. I wouldn't last a week without a fan, my mp3 and a television with astro. Therefore I respect and admire those onboard the Doulos. For more information on Doulos check out their website at
http://www.mvdoulos.org

Well, my whole group thought that we were going to be painting on the ship. I thought that would be impossible but then again anything can happen. So we made our way onboard and went in search of the registration area. When we didn't find it we figured that the registration would be back on the port. So we went back down the steps. Whoah don't get me started on those steps, 10 times or more a day and I'd be slim in no time, hahaha.... no seriously they're killer steps. We found the registration area and since they were still packing the goody bags they told us to walk around first. So Beth, Dani and I headed for the shade. Thats when I noticed that the white painted plywood boards along the entrance was our canvas, 2 boards for each team.

Our "canvas" of white behind us

We, thinking that the theme was culture (due to bad judgement) had already planned what to do and thinking they were going to ask questions, hid most of the meanings in the mural to save us drawing it all out and saves time. For example, the colour trails to the hand represents all the cultures in Malaysia coming together as one nation. We got the shock of our lives when we saw everyone else drawing boats and waves and even Digi people (what the.... yeah Digi, Malaysia's mobile phone coverage) We went along with the original plan anyway, because it was too late to change and we did not join to win but to enjoy ourselves (although if we did win that would've been great) So Beth and Dani went ahead and drew the guy in the mural, whom Beth decided to call Bujang in the end, and Farrah and Sabrina went along and drew their cool looking tribal art. Farrah did the bottom and Sabrina did the right. I on the other hand, sharpened a pencil, then thinking that it was a total waste of time, went digging into bags and handed all of them mechanical pencils and lead, got ready some paint and started painting the background. So I merely painted the mural and did not draw anything. The whole mural turned out well though and I'm very proud of it. It was kinda the coolest day ever.

just after we finished painting

Oh Bujang, we're so proud of you

Us posing next to Bujang

Hopefully this isn't the end of the organisation but just the end of the ship. Doulos is retiring in 2010 and I hope that there will be another vessel that will carry on the good work of Doulos.

STS's Photography Club's 1st Annual Dinner.

Sorry for this is quite a late post. The dinner was ages ago, but I've only got the time now to blog about it. Ahaha the stress I remember like it was yesterday. Yikes, my hair came out in clumps everyday (i'm not joking).

The whole dinner went quite well. It didn't crash and burn (thank God) it wasn't that great either but that's ok. I am really blessed to have friends that stuck with me and Efa through thick and thin. With friends like these (Dani, Tilly, Fatin, Afiqah, Audi) we managed to pull through and made it a fun night.

Fatin, her cousin and friend jumping when the dinner ended

Apart for the wedding next door being so rowdy, with their yamseng. Shessh seriously, halfway through Mdm. Mary John's speech they started with the yamseng. It was quite funny though, because they were so loud and MJ looked shocked for a while. We can't help but laugh. Besides that, the 'Photographer of the night' contest kept the teachers and us entertained. Here's some of the contestants:

Neways, The dinner went splendidly and I'm really grateful to everyone who helped make it awesome. True friends is the best gift anyone can ask for.

Fatin, me, Tarina and Dani

Bring on the music!!!!

Right, my latest venture on Youtube got me in search of my latest favourite songs. In hope of finding something official and will last and not suddenly gone the next time you look for it. The first song I went in search for was Selena Gomez's "Tell me something I don't know". For some reason I can't really explain, I love this song. It's a really awesome song and Selena Gomez definately knocks out whats-her-name Milez virus *burn* I'm sorry I just don't like Miley, everyone is entittled to their own opinnion and that's mine, I don't like Miley. The song breakout only caught me cause it was actually written by Katy Perry *gasp* yeah it was. Seems that Katy also used to sing background for Miley at her Hannah concerts. There was once rumours about Selena and Hannah, oops I mean Miley, having a fued. Well that's just rumours according to them. They're really good friends. I'll leave it at that.

Well this is her song "Tell me something I don't know" it has a catchy beat to it. It is also the soundtrack to her new movie "Another Cinderella Story". Which I just bought and yeap, can't wait to watch.

Apparently, it's supposed to be a musical version of Hillary Duff's "A Cinderella Story" a few years back. Plus, it also stars Drew Seeley as a talented singer who falls for Selena. Drew Seeley, unknown to us Malaysian *I think* Is from the High School Musical Concert. Note this people.... the voice of TROY (Zac Efron) and the voice of Troy SINGING that made us swoon is actually DREW SEELEY. Well, well, who knew.... He's (Zac Efron) seems like the only guy that didn't sing in the first movie. Well at least he sang in the sequel right?? Besides the point, Drew is really good looking and a very talented singer and songwriter *did you know he co-wrote "get'cha head in the game"*, it's really great that he got a leading role in 'Another Cinderella Story'. Well, here's pictures of Drew and Selena:

I must've gone Disney crazy lately, not only have I gone bonkers over the JoBros and Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, I went out and got two magazines on all the latest tween stars. This to my surprise includes the singers of my next favourite song 'Lost', the band Menudo. Right, if one were to google Menudo, one would find out, that it's actually a renewed band. Remember Ricky Martin?? Yeah, before he was all that.... he was singing in the band Menudo. After that Menudo flopped and wasn't heard of again. That is until now.... Menudo is back and I'm telling you it's gonna be a good comeback. Their Bandemonium Tour is already a huge success. And why shouldn't it be, with a single like Lost, and their amazing voice and good looks, they'll have girls swooning at their every word *ehem ehem*. Well there's 5 of them in Menudo. Chris,Monti,Jose and Emmanuel. In my opinion, Jose and Emmanuel are the cutest, but that's just me, hahahaha.... I'm too lazy to post up the video so go check it out yourself.

Hope you enjoyed the vid and what not. Check in later.

Stress makes the mind go whack!

Yeah, to tell you the truth, stress does make the mind go whack! hahahahaha.... muahaahahaha.. blaha blaha. Since today is Friday and there is no school and exams tomorrow, I thought I'd spend some time venting all my stress online.

Right, lets start with Chemistry. I'm lucky if i even get a good failing mark on this test. The reason.... I don't understand a single thing. Yeah uhuh, no one to blame but myself I guess. BM, yeah as I posted before, I'm terrible at it and it gets worse. My class' BM teacher, the darling, said she's cutting our marks if we answer two questions on the same page. Uhuh, yeah it's my fault as she said "Kamu orang tak dengar cakap saya, padan muka awak". yeah in English... "It's your fault for not listening to me, serves you right" So yippedy doo ain't that swell. So far, I'm not confident in any of my subjects. And to think I'm in form 4 and supposed to be studying hard and what not, tsk tsk tsk.

The only highlight about today's exam was the english paper. It was fun, fun, fun. Why? Cause the questions were so general. "Health, my dream house, start a story with...." and all that jazz. Hmmm.... obviously I picked something that I can spin my on web on, so to speak. A topic I could make my own, no strings and borders to follow. The topic was, My Dream House. Maybe i'll type it out and post it sometime, maybe not. It's about my ridiculously awesome "dream" house. as in you can only dream about it, unless you married Brad Pitt or one of the Jonas Brothers, hahaha... Kevin *swoons*

Besides that, Efariza, a few others and I are supposed to come up with a totally fabulous dinner plan for the Photography and videography Club. Oh, we did, that was until hardly anyone signed up. Yeah dilemma much. Reasons given were, owh it's too near SPM, owh it's right after exams. Well my answer, exactly, AFTER exams and it's not that close to SPM. Just one night to take a load off and to have a little fun. Support us form 4's who are trying so hard to put this dinner together. That's all we're asking for. But nooooooo.... we had to go round asking our friends, who are not members to come and support us. We also opened the, what once was farewell dinner, for all STS students. Ahhhhh..... the stress the stress. The best thing is.... we have to deal with the dinner and our exams YAY!!! *note the sarcasm* I just pray and hope things will turn out well on the day after all our hard planning.

Well I feel much better now, so that'll be all for my venting post today. hahahaha... muahahaha...blaha blaha... see I can't stop laughing all of a sudden, the effects stress has on you. That summary I had to do for English paper 1, the schizophrenia, depression and substance abuse. I think after this I might turn out to be all three. hahahahah.......

I Hate It When This Happens

Argh!!! the net is totlly frustrating sometimes. Here I was online and downloading Ares, which everyone says it's free. It is actually not!! You've to pay a certain amount after downloading the freakin program to actually download anything on it.

Besides that I found out that the person on you tube that has been posting up my beloved gossip girl series has been suspended! Yeah you heard me suspended! Darn it! sorry for cursing but I'm really upset. I just hate it when stuff like this happens! Now I can't watch the proper episode of Gossip Girl I can just watch the chopped up version of it! Argh!!!! Plus, the one I posted on here doesn't work anymore bacause the user is suspended I'm not bothered to take it off. So just note that it doesn't work anymore. Now I'm going back in search of a decent post up of gossip girl on you tube and I pray I find one.

Wow today has been stressful and upsetting. Oh well, there's nothing I can do. Anyone got any information about Ares please leave me a note. If you know where to get the gossip girl series please please do leave me a note. Hahaha thanks.

Gossip Girl season 2 episode 2

Oh my gosh! Finally! I waited a whole week for this episode on YouTube. Now it's here!!! Yipee.... I just love Gossip girl, mostly for Chuck (Ed Westwick) dear darling chuck, conniving as he may be I love his character. Blair whom I love too, she's just as conniving and almost always gets her way. I'm gonna put up season 2 episode 2, although I'm not sure if it's allowed.... Help me here, is it?? I dunno, but I am totally grateful to the person who uploaded the series on YouTube, whomever he/she is thank you so so much.

About this episode:
1) Remember episode 1... When Chuck couldn't say '3 words 8 letters' (I want you) and Blair left with Lord Beeton. Yeah Chuck looked so broken hearted I LOVED it.
2) More of Chuck and Blair and less of Dan and Serena and Nate. Dan and Serena is thinking of getting back together, so they are not officially back together yet. Yeah right, as if.
3) Blair tweaked swear words using Chuck's name, which is totally awesome and Dani and I are using them. Mother Chucker, Basshole (Chuck Bass)
4) It's so obvious that Chuck wants Blair back but Blair has already fallen for Marcus (Lord Beeton) Or has she? that's a good question, sometimes nobody knows what Blair Waldorf wants.
5) Blair wants to see the Duchess (Marcus's stepmother) and as usual.... what Blair wants Blair gets.
6) Chuck's plan against Blair backfired, hahaha... If you noticed most plans that Chuck coops up against Blair backfires. Interesting.... *Screams: They're meant for each other*
7) The Duchess is actually...... *drumroll* Catherine (remember episode 1??)
8) That's really sick... some one's been sleeping with his ex's boyfriend's stepmother. Dramalicious.
9) The way Chuck says "Goodnight Blair" and the way he looked at her sent chills down my spine. That guy is a really good actor, his feelings for Blair looks real.

Ok that's enough, if I type the whole thing, you wouldn't need to watch it at all. By the way all this about season 2 is a major spoiler for us Malaysians as Season 2 is not airing on Malaysian cable yet. We might even have to wait for the middle of next year for it. Well you know me.... I'm not a patient person. I hate waiting and being left in the dark...... So obviously YouTube is my first stop for all my gossip girl needs. I love gossip, therefore scandal appeals to me hahahaha.... *evil laugh*

Well here it is....... Season 2 episode 2. Thank you so much GossipGirlWatch for the upload.

Additional information:

Ironically..... Patrick Heusinger (Marcus Beeton) who is an American is acting as an Englishman in the series, where else Ed Westwick (Chuck) who is an Englishman/Australian is acting as an American. Oh well, both are cute... but Ed Westwick gives Patrick a run for his money in my opinion. Ed is so so so cute!

Ah well, Gossip or no gossip I love the series. That's all from me today, I'll post again soon I'm sure.

Joe Cole Noooooo...........

Yesterday:

My gosh, my gosh. I was sitting in my seat as usual waiting for the teacher to come in when...
Dani: Did you hear what happened to Joe Cole?
Me: No, what wasnt he in the papers with Theo Walcott yesterday?
Dani: Yup, Well it was Croatia vs England last night and...
Me: And what?
Dani: Jole Cole got slammed in the head. His head was bleeding and he swaggered a few and dropped unconcious.
Me: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?
Dani: A croatian player slammed Joe cole on the head and his head bled and he dropped unconcious
Me: NOOOOOO..................

I felt tears coming to my eyes. (Note: For ya'll that don't know me, I take football very seriously I mean VERY seriously) Joe Cole!!!!!!!!!! Noooooooooo.

Dani: It'll be in the papers for sure
Me: (holding back tears) yeah tommorrows paper!
Dani: We'll check it tommorrow
Me: (hugs schoolbag) Whyyyyyyy.....

Joe Cole

Today:
I walked into the classroom after my duty and Dani and I rushed to the newspaper. Slowly we looked through the Sports section of 'Utusan Borneo' and got the shock of our life....

Dani: What the hell
Me: What kind of newspaper is this? Sak Ati Sak Ati ( damn in bahasa sarawak)
Our class teacher was right in front of us taking attendance while all this was going on.
Attylia: Is he in the papers?
Dani and I: NO!!!!!!!!
Teacher: Joe Cole kah?
Dani and I: Ya!!!!!!!
Teacher: You minat football kah? (You like football?)
Dani and I: Dah lama minat lah cikgu (We've liked it for a long time teacher)
Teacher: Ya kah? Saya ingat perempuan tak suka football ( I thought girls didn't like football)
Then he laughed and made his way out of the classroom.
Me: Nooooo..... I can't believe this!
Dani: It isn't that bad, don't be such a drama queen
Me: (glares) Says the girl who cried when I said John Terry thought about leaving Chelsea!
Dani: ( Whined and there were tears in her eyes) Ok I get it, it's bad.

Theo Walcott

oh ho, it gets worse! Dani texted me to tell me she was watching the re-run. This is what happened during the Croatia vs England match.
1) The ground was so slippery Frank Lampard slipped to the ground when he tried getting up.
2) Everyone was slipping everywhere
3) Rooney played dirty for a while ( although he's in England I don't like him that much)
4) Croatian player knocked down Theo Walcott ( who scored the winning hat-trick) and therefore poor Theo ate dirt.
5) Joe cole got knocked and his head bled. he swaggered a few and dropped to the ground
6) When he was carried on a stretcher to the changing rooms the Croatian crowd a had the nerve to cheer. They CHEERED, what is wrong with them?
7) The announcer said "And there they go. The sad sight of Joe Cole" as they were carrying him off the pitch.

We (England) won 3-0. With only 10 players on the Croatian side and without Joe Cole on the England side. The match was horrible appart from Theo's good goals. He really is the rising star of the England team. Now what's up with Joe Cole? Not only is he an England player he's also a Chelsea player. That means.... He's undispensable! Unless that new manager (Scolari) changed the starting line again. I miss Mourinho and his tactics, Chelsea's glory days were with Mourinho. Now he's gone to Inter Milan. Too bad Kaka is in AC Milan and not Inter.

Wow, look at the time... it's getting late and I've got a busy day tommorrow. It's sad what happened to Joe Cole though. Hope's he gets better soon.

The Classic IQ test from tickle.com

I had just finished updating my blog layout, when I thought I would take a quiz. So I went to my usual quiz site, web.tickle.com and I came across an IQ test. As I'm seemingly below average in the brains department I decided to take the quiz. This is my result :

Word Warrior
Your IQ Score is: 111
You are equipped with a verbal arsenal that enables you to understand complex issues and communicate on a particularly high level. These talents make you a Word Warrior. Whether or not you recognize it, your vocabulary is your strongest suit—use it whenever you can. Since your command of words is so great, you are also a terrific communicator — able to articulate big ideas to just about anyone. Your wordsmithing prowess will also help in artistic and creative pursuits. The power of words translates to fresh ideas off paper too. Since you have so many words at your disposal, you are in a unique position to describe things in an original way, as well as see the future in your mind's eye. In short, your strengths allow you to be a visionary — able to extrapolate and come up with a multitude of fresh ideas. And you are in good company — bask in the brilliance of Word Warriors who have walked before you. William Shakespeare let loose the power of his pen. His ability to articulate the most subtle nuances of human nature and to create colorful characters are why his stories still have a major impact — even 400 years after he first wrote them. Whether you put pen to paper or use your understanding of the words around you to come up with creative approaches to problems, your potential as a Word Warrior is terrific.
Weird, my vocabulary isn't that good. My command of English is no where near the likes of Cassandra and Abigail, who uses the words oxymoron, procrastinating and deprivation. I much prefer words like; I'm tired, i can't help but stare at the wall when I know I'm supposed to be doing my add maths exercise and thats so contradicting. Well, I guess that's just me. Nowadays a 91 on an English test is not that great an acheivement. I do love literature as long as it isn't illustrated and it isn't the short edited version. Original is best.
That's all from me this time, cheerio

Music Videos anyone? (Katy perry, Cobra Starship and David Archuleta)

Ok, so I went on to YouTube today and searched for "I kissed a girl by Katy Perry". It's a totally weird video according to my friends, so I'd thought I'd check it out. Oh how I regretted it. Maybe if I were a guy I'd be cheering and wooting like crazy, unfortunately I'm not.

I prefered her other videos as weird as they may be. For instance, her song, Thinking of you. It's a really cool song, it has the right melody and words although the story behind it all is about the girl letting the guy go and regretting it and, well to qoute "when i'm with him i'm thinking of you." Yeah, sad isn't it? The video was awesome in the beginning, it showed her with two different guys, that's well, related to the song. Then all of a sudden as the song progresses another girl enters the picture. She tries to push Katy off the bed (actually she doesn't even look like she's trying) and the guy was in the other corner. I've got to say that I'm really impressed with Katy's acting in this video. She looks totally awesome and really sad like she's really going to cry. Other than that, I'm not too impressed by it. The ending was a bit mind boggling for me though. The dress Katy's wearing is stained with blood and the guy lying next to her had blood on him too. I thought, "hmmm maybe she killed him". Then at the very end it showed something long lying on the floor covered in blood. I was like, "What the hell is that?" and yeah I still can't figure out what it is. If anyone knows, please do tell.

Ok.... on to another video. This one is pretty weird as well. For all of you that loved that I kissed a girl song by Katy Perry take a listen to the parody by Cobra Starship. Oh by the way, I kissed a girl is known as I kissed a ...... in Malaysia. Weird sensors, thank gawd for the internet and good downloading sites like Frostwire. I found this song while I was watching the Katy Perry version. Anywho... I kissed a boy has the same tune as I kissed a girl (obviously it's a parody) but it's kissing a boy for a totally different reason than Katy's I kissed a girl. The reason the guy kissed the boy is for the attention and to cause chaos (sorta i guess). The lyrics are totally hilarious and i can't wait to see what the video clip will be like. If it's anything like Cobra Starship's other video, Snakes on a plane and The city is at war, it'll be awesome. Well here's the song from YouTube, take a listen and tell me what you think of it.

I saved the best for last! The next video I'm talking about is Crush, Yes you heard me, CRUSH. This awesome song is sung by David Archuleta the runner up of American Idol 2008. It's his first single and already topping the charts as soon as it went on the radio. The tune alone is enough for you to love the song. Add in Archie's voice and voila, a perfect recipe for swooning and awwing girls. I admit I'm one of them, hahaha... There's just something about the way he sings that feels so...... how do I put this; so real and he sings from his heart, you can feel it when you listen to the song. If you, like me had the chance to see the real music video for 'Crush' on YouTube then lucky you, cause that video has now been pulled down from the site. Something about it being copyrighted. Don't worry though, it'll be on MTV soon enough and everyone will get to see it. A spoiler for those who hasn't seen the video yet:
1) There is totally no chemistry between the girl in the video and David.
2) David looks really grown up and *ehem* really good in the video
3) In the beginning of the song David plays a piano on what seems to be a platform of some sort on a lake ( sorry forgot what it was called and not bothered to look it up) and it was picture perfect!

Now, here's a video of this song from YouTube, remember, it's not the original but it's the best one I found. Tell me what you think about it. Just so you know, I love this song. *grins*

That's all for this post, I'll post again when I get the time. Maybe next it'll be about a tv series or something. I have no idea yet, we'll see. Send some comments my way will ya. Cheerio.
xoxo, babyJ

My first post.....

I say, what's with everyone and blogging? My friends love blogging, most of my schoolmates have blogs, so I thought why don't I get one. It might be fun? Right? I guess I'm about to find out.

Well, all I can say now is that I love rambling, it's what I do best. Hahaha... May it be about the latest in entertainment, the latest book I've read or a certain thing I just can't get my mind off of. Crazy isn't it? the way our mind works...

I've got a friend that has a really good imagination, she has this crazy absolutely perfect way of studying. As her imagination is really good, all she has to do is picture in her mind storage files ( like the ones in the computer) and just save whatever she's learnt in them. Crazy right? But I really wish I had a mind like that! It works for her every time. *sigh*

I on the other hand, am stuck between dumb and smart. I'm not that dense, nor am I a genius I'll just say I'm below average then. So as a below average student, life isn't easy..... let me rephrase that, School isn't easy, there much better. I love my life just fine. Well, back to school, lets see... I'm failing Chemistry, terribly, and also Additional Mathematics. I'm terrible at calculating, absolutely rubbish in equations and completely useless in understanding anything Chemistry related. There I've said it all.

Meanwhile..... I'm ace-ing English..... Good news right? As if! English is easy.... Well at least by Malaysian standards it is. Then again I'm terrible at BM. I know... I'm ashamed to admit it, seriously it's embarassing. Hey, at least I'm good at Biology. I pass Physics, but nothing to be that proud of so I'll skip that.

Skipping to what I love. Lets see, I love taking photographs (always have) It's just something about it that draws me in. When I see a beautiful scenery, a perfect moment or may it be something that interests me I'll just grab a camera and snap a picture of it. There's something about it, taking pictures that is well to me, special. With a simple photograph one can keep a memory and treasure it forever. Ex: A couple's marriage, your first date, the first time you walked, your first birthday, and your holiday in the Bahamas. I think I'll skip this one too till another time and another day. Because if I don't I'll be going on and on till tommorow. Well other than that, I love writing stories, reading novels, watching movies, listening to music and of course surfing the web.

When I was camping at camp permai, I swear I took this picture, lol.

Well, I think blogging is quite interesting afterall. That's cause, well, I get to ramble. Hahaha.... I think I'll post another one as soon as I finish this one. By the way, to all my friends that so happened to read this, ya'll should know who I am *wink wink*
